Storm Front by Jim Butcher

Hmmmm. If I had to pick my favorite wizard named Harry, it wouldn't be an English schoolboy. Harry Dresden is a wizard, living in Chicago and working as a private investigator. He gets called in on cases with which the police need help, cases that can't be solved by the usual methods. This book, and every book in the series, grabs you from the beginning and won't let go until the last word. Suspenseful and surprisingly funny, I enjoy every page, every sentence, every word Jim Butcher writes.

The Loose End of the Rainbow by D. B. Pacini

Enchanted from the beginning, D. B. Pacini has woven a story of adventure and daring that is totally captivating. The story is full of magic and mystery, while at the same time teaching subtle lessons in history, culture, and loyalty.
The most intriguing part of the book for me was the impeccable research that is obvious in every detail.
This is the first of a planned series of stories that should do very well in the young adult market.

Dirty Little Angels by Chris Tusa

Chris Tusa has written a dark tale of teen life in the heat of the South. It's not pretty, but gritty.
Fans of Wally Lamb's She's Come Undone will enjoy this book.
